Faris Alneamat
The Be Our Guest program gave me an incredible opportunity to gain real-world experience in the hospitality industry. During my co-op at the Hilton Toronto, I worked with both the Human Resources and Front Desk teams, where I developed valuable skills in organization, guest service, and teamwork. Whether I was assisting with onboarding packages, conducting workplace surveys, or checking in guests, every task helped me grow in confidence and professionalism. I also had the chance to mentor a new intern and even lead a tour of the hotel. The experience not only strengthened my work ethic but also introduced me to a welcoming and dynamic industry. Be Our Guest truly prepared me for the future, and I would highly recommend it to any student looking to explore hospitality and improve themselves.

The Be Our Guest program is one of the best programs you can join when in High School. When I received confirmation for the interview for the program I was so excited but also so nervous, since this would be my first time working in a hotel! I had the pleasure of being placed at the Hazelton Hotel centrally located in the heart of Yorkville!
The Be Our Guest program ensures you are welcomed and set up for success in the hotel you are placed at. The program teaches you many valuable lessons that will help you grow within the industry, you will also make so many connections with your co-workers that will help you in the future! The Be Our Guest program also coordinates tours of other hotels that allows you to see how other hotels operate. The Be Our Guest program also includes a day on campus at George Brown College, which I completed each Monday for a three hour class named Remarkable Restaurant Service, and Introduction to the Industry. This class was very helpful as it gives in depth understanding on how the industry works, wine and service knowledge.
Currently I have the pleasure of being a student in my second semester at George Brown College at School of Hospitality and Tourism Management in the Hospitality and Tourism program. Once my term ended with the program” I applied for a position at the Hazelton Hotel and I am so lucky to have received a position as Guest Service Agent. My everyday tasks include, check-in and out, answer calls, make sure luggage is stored properly, if there is a customer issue, I find a way to resolve the issue in a kind and timely manner and much more! I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to work alongside many knowledgeable people!

I wanted to take a moment to share my experience with the Be Our Guest program. Being part of this program allowed me to learn more about the in's and outs of the hospitality industry and gave me the opportunity to explore different career path that I didn’t consider before.
I had an amazing experience as a whole but what made it really memorable are the people I got to meet. Working with a team of professionals at the Omni King Edward was by far what made me enjoy my Co-op so much. The people I met were always willing to give me a helping hand and answer my questions no matter how many I asked.
One thing that differentiates this program for me is the hands-on experience, whether through my placement or the dual credit opportunity. The dual credit not only helped me learn technical skills but also made the learning process fun and engaging.
I enjoyed this program so much that it really confirmed my decision to pursue hospitality in post-secondary. The experiences I’ve had and the people I’ve met have made such a huge impact on me, and I’m excited to keep learning and growing in this industry. I’m so grateful for everything this program has given me, and I can’t wait to see where this path takes me next!

Growing up with both my parents in the industry, hospitality was always a part of my life. However, the Be Our Guest program gave me the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and solidified my passion for it! While I was at my placement at the Intercontinental Toronto Centre, I learned about many different sectors of a hotel- from front desk to housekeeping, and even reservations. In every sector, I always had the most amazing and supportive mentors and co-workers , and I am happy to say that I was taught the true meaning of
hospitality by them. As part of the program, attending a Leadership and speaking course at George Brown College made me fall in love with the school - Which is why I am now currently studying there for my Hospitality and Tourism Management diploma! This program has truly helped me in my education and career path in ways I never imagined, and I could not recommend it any more to anyone seeking to gain insight into the hospitality industry, and be part of something truly meaningful!

Alexus Capirchio
The To Be Our Guest Program has provided me an opportunity to advance my passion in the baking and pastry field within the hospitality industry.
As one of the bursary winners and a Be Our Guest Alumnus; this honour allowed me some financial security towards my educational requirements needed to obtain my training. I am currently in my second year of the Baking and Pastry Art Management Program at George Brown College. My co-op has provided me with a job once I finished the hours needed for school, so I currently work at Dip the Tip Desserts. This experience has taught me new skills and strengthened my previous skills.
This extremely unique opportunity demonstrates that a small town girl can enhance her future dreams in a creative profession, world wide. This program has equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to excel within the hospitality industry. I am deeply grateful for the impact this program has had on my academic and career journey.
